What is WiredContact Enterprise (WCE)?

WiredContact Enterprise x3 steps away from using ACT! as its database backend and gives you the flexibility to connect to a selection of industry standard databases. By using robust database engines such as Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Express, My SQL, and Microsoft Access, you gain greater flexibility, more scalability and a significant performance boost with your WiredContact solution.

The WCE installation includes an database wizard import tool to fully convert your ACT! database (versions 5 & 6) to the database of your choice. User profiles, custom fields and all the tables - contacts, notes/histories, activities, sales, groups, attachments, etc. are all easily migrated over to WCE. Other files in TXT and CSV formats as well as other database types (SQL and Access) can also be imported.

WCE has the same familiar interface as x3 and all of your customizations will seamlessly convert to WCE so there's virtually no downtime for your team.

Compatible Database Types
 

WCE is "database agnostic" and was built so you can use various industry standard database engines depending upon your company's needs. WCE is available now with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Express, Microsoft Access and MySQL. Other compatible database engines (requiring further testing) include AS400 and Oracle. This gives your company total flexibility and control over the database.

Server Requirements
 

WCE works with Windows 2000 and 2003 Server with Internet Information Services (IIS)
5, 6 or higher. For installs up to 5 users, Windows 2000 Professional or Windows Professional can be used.

The speed of the processor on your web server and database server are key factors in determining the performance of WiredContact. The specifications of your web server and database server depend upon the size of your database, number of users and Internet connection speed. Multiple web servers can be running WiredContact to access one or more databases.

*WiredContact installation files are less than 15 mb. The hard drive space requirements are dependent on document library requirements, entity level attachment requirements, customization requirements and other factors.

Pricing
 

Companies have the option to buy named and/or concurrent licensing — and can mix both type of licenses for the same site. We'll continue to bundle the online and handheld access for PDA's solutions in one WCE license.

The WCE Upgrade fee is $129 per license.

Maintenance & Support
  WiredContact Enterprise updates are included in the first year. After the anniversary date of the purchase, customers will be charged $ 25/per user for continued maintenance. (Maintenance will be prorated for additional licenses purchased throughout the year at a $2/month per user deduction).

We'll continue to offer free email support and remote desktop support for customers currently under maintenance, as needed. Support includes technical assistance with issues relating to installation (consulting services are not included). WiredContact Solution Providers can provide assistance with implementation, including customizations, database design and training.
